Confused yet? NM Auger is the name I published my big, serious book under, and Lil Doe – because I am indeed petite, shy and like my privacy – is my username on a site where I publish my less-serious stuff.

Really, though, my name is Nikki. I’m married to a wonderful guy (who helped me make this website, actually) and pet mom to two fur-babies: Ozzie, my high-strung, over-protective Iggy/Chi mix; and Becky, the world’s most beautiful (and laid back) cat. We’re lucky enough to live on a lake, which means we’re lucky enough.

I’m an all-around animal lover – I was a zookeeper for just shy of 10 years, and I worked with animals ranging in size from cockroaches to polar bears. And so, so many birds. And I loved all of them.

Now, I’m a cultivator (not the flying-on-a-sword kind), learning in the ins and out of growing, let’s say, stinky tomatoes.

In my free time, I like to – and you won’t believe this – read and write. I’m also a casual gardener, now trying to turn my yard into a mini botanical garden, full of no-to-low maintenance native perenials. When it’s nice out, you can catch me floating in the lake, at the beach, or, more likely, cruising around on Cova, my ’22 Can Am Ryker.

I’ve loved to write since I was little, but never really had the courage to put any of it out there. Until I finally, after nearly 20 years of working on it, self-published “Deserving” in February 2023. That broke the seal, so to speak, and I decided I may as well throw “Better Half” onto into the webiverse again, this time on Tapas.

This site will be a place for random blog posts (let’s see how consistent I really am ….), but it’s mostly meant to be a home for the “Better Half” extras that I can’t post on Tapas. You know, the 18+ stuff.
